simply: indulge in the good life.

Gourmet cuisine of vigilius mountain resort.

It is surely the fine flavours, but it is just as surely the place itself as well. It awakens our awareness of fragrances and aromas, of well-being in pleasant company, of all the senses. As a result, the vigilius mountain resort becomes an indulgent hotel in several respects: the restaurant where you feel in seventh heaven. Large glass fronts offer a stunning view over mountain panoramas and the lights in the valley in the evening as well as appetising insights into the light modern kitchen which provides a fitting place for the region’s treats. Simply, harmonious and delicious. A tasteful counterpart to this is the cuisine at the cosy Stube ida where the region’s history lives on in culinary perfection.
Food that tastes good and is good for you: the heartfelt desire of the gourmet kitchen at vigilius mountain resort is not restricted to creating delicious tastes from natural ingredients. It pays particular attention to the indulgence and wellbeing of every single one of its guests. As a result, the kitchen at vigilius mountain resort also offers a variety of gluten-free specialities alongside vegetarian menus. The breakfast buffet at Restaurant 1500 also provides a rich selection of gluten-free breads, different muesli and sweet pastries alongside everything else that you could possibly want. However, the vigilius mountain resort requests that you inform us about any food intolerances when you make your booking.
Single-day guests are also warmly welcome at the vigilius mountain resort hotel up Monte San Vigilio/Vigiljoch. Stube ida invites hikers to take a break and indulge during the day. In the evening the cable car is in operation especially for guests of the multi-award-winning Restaurant 1500, by prearrangement.

The chef as a philosopher.

It tastes best if it comes from the region. That sounds simple and yet it is anything but a matter of course to create culinary highlights from regional flavours so that every element can reveal its very own personality in a dish: pure, unadulterated, natural and authentic. Our Chef de Cuisine Matteo Contiero has a special penchant for vegetables and herbs and for giving each dish its very own personality. A fusion of delicious harmony and tasty balance on a plate.
The ingredients in our gourmet cuisine are clear and honest – fresh wild herbs from Monte San Vigilio/Vigiljoch, or the local potatoes that have a special flavour and have a festival celebrated in their honour every year. Most of the products that the team at the indulgent hotel uses come from farmers and suppliers in the region. The chef at vigilius mountain resort values this greatly: “The personal contact and regular visits to the farms and fields are very important to me. Seeing the cattle and cabbages grow is not only the perfect quality control, it also grows trust through cooperation as well as a shared motivation to get the very best out of a product. “
It’s all about indulgence – pure and unadulterated. Our Chef de Cuisine hopes you enjoy your meal!

Where dining becomes a celebration of the elements.

An indulgent hotel, a far cry from what you know, without the noise and hectic of everyday life, lets you sense the simplicity and force of nature anew – especially on your plate! Sparkling mineral water fresh from the spring, a sun that sets behind the mountains in a fiery, flaming red, the clear, clean air and firm ground under your feet.  All that is expressed in our natural cooking as elementally and purely as the mountain itself, capturing everything special about the region in a tasty and wholesome way. As a tribute to this natural luxury, the vigilius kitchen offers a special programme: an exciting menu based on the four elements of fire, water, earth and air. Enjoy your meal!
