The world of film from the director's point of view: exciting and instructive, Michael Ganguly guides us through the history of film. During these film talks at the vigilius, our distinguished expert gives insights into the thoughts and lives of the director as well as into shooting techniques and film editing.

Dr. Martin Ganguly is a lecturer for teacher training at the University of Berlin, as well as author and teacher in the fields of film education and art. As a film pedagogue he also heads the school project of the Generation Section of the Berlin International Festival and is a member of the selection committee for the School Cinema Weeks.

He holds a doctorate in educational science from the Technical University of Berlin and also completed his studies in directing and acting with distinction at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. Three of his multimedia teaching assignments for Matthias-Film received the renowned Comenius Medal: 2006 "Adrian Wants to Dance", 2008 "Oliver Twist", 2011 "The White Ribbon". For Matthias-Film, he also works in advanced training and as a film scout. Since 2009 he has been an examiner for the Self-Regulatory Body of the Movie Industry FSK.
